Set Up Utilities

Utilities

Before closing, you will want to call your utility companies and get them switched from the seller’s name to your name. As applicable, you will want to make sure electric, gas, water, trash and sewer are all taken care of. Some of these might be through one company, some of these you can do online, and some might be taken care of through your HOA. Your realtor will help guide you through the process and get you all necessary contact information.

Don’t forget to schedule your cable and internet. These aren’t quite as important, but nothing is more frustrating than having to wait over a week before your internet can get installed.
